SEVENTEEN On The Spot Foundation Sample Trial Week 6

Wednesday, 29 May 2013

So this is yet another overdue post as I have only just picked this up from my mums house.  The lovely Georgia kindly sent me another sample this time in the shade porcelain as my tiny tan from my expedition to Morocco had disappeared. *sad face * So I can wait to update you on the foundation and my too pale for words skin!

I am also very pleased to say that everyone else can try it as it has now been released in Boots stores across the UK I think, and from what I have seen from my local Boots is that it is going fast!

On another note, I was wondering if you would like me to do more regular daily life posts? I will try and add a poll so you can vote!

SEVENTEEN On The Spot Foundation Sample Trial Week 5

Tuesday, 21 May 2013

Now I know this post is around 5 days overdue but I have found that I have lost my small tan. This means that my sample is too dark for my stupidly light skin tone. Luckily the lovely Georgia, who is helping with this trial, is very kindly sending me a lighter shade, so I can keep you updated!

Rimmel Apocalips

Sunday, 19 May 2013

I know I have mentioned Rimmel's Apocalips before but I decided I would do another review-ish type thing. Also sorry, if you've noticed I've done a lot of lip product reviews lately I will try and post a variety of posts.

After buying Celestial, which I quickly fell in love with, I decided to buy Big Bang! While Celestial
coraly pink, Big Bang is a bright in your face pink toned red.

L-R Celestial and Big Bang

The smell is sort of hard to describe as it is a sickly sweet smell, that is partially a fruit based smell..? On the lips the laquers look very glossy and almost as if it is twinned with a lip gloss!

Top 5 Eye Liners

Friday, 17 May 2013

So here is the second installment in my Top 5 series... Eyeliner!

The products are:
- NYC Khol Eyeliner Pencil in White
- 17 Felt Tip Liner in Black
- Avon SuperShock Liner in Flash
- MUA 3 in 1 Contour Liner In Black
- Soap And Glory Smoulder Kohl In Black

First is the NYC Khol Liner is a great product for my bottom waterline. I find it really brightens my waterline and the amount of product you get for the price is just the best.

The second liner is the 17 felt tip liner. Now I'm not a usual felt tip liner person but this is a very good one. Once it's on it stays on which means any mistakes are hard to erase. Other than that it's very good.

The Avon SuperShock is another one great for your waterline or even to highlight the inner corner.

One of my all time favourite eyeliners is the MUA 3 in 1 contour liner, mainly as it has so many different ways to create a line. You can see a blog post on it here.

Finally an amazingly blendable creamy eyeliner. It is a proper jet black so not for the faint hearted. I love all Soap and Glory products, (except their plumping lipglosses, I don't like plumping lip glosses. However on to that another day!)

MUA Undress Me Too Palette / EMOTD

Wednesday, 15 May 2013

3 for 2 sales are definitely a weakness of mine due to the fact I just bought more make up from Superdrug! They are clever, MUA is included too.

I bought my friend Katie this palette for her birthday and she told me that she used it pretty much everyday, since she got it. So I decided to buy the palette!

The palette, I think is meant to be a dupe for the Naked 2. The colours are a mixture of neutrals, metallics and cool greys as it says itself. This is the perfect palette for me as I love golds and neutrals.

As with most MUA products they have a guide on the back of how to use the eye shadows to create a good look. I have to admit I did not like, at all, it was way too dramatic for everyday wear so I decided to create my own.

I placed Lavish across the lid. Then smudged Obsession in my outer corner, then blended it into Lavish. After that I patted Dreamy onto the middle 1/3 of my eye and proceeded to blend it with Obsession. To highlight my inner corner I used the tiniest amount of Naked. And to finish I curled my eye lashes and used Maybelline's Rocket Volum' Express mascara.

The colours are swatched below:

Top Row
L-R: Naked, Devotion,Shy, Fiery, Lavish, Dreamy
Bottom  Row
L-R: Tranquil, Exposed, Reveal, Wink, Obsessed, Corrupt

MAC First Lipstick Hue

Sunday, 12 May 2013

I spent ages last week trying to find the perfect MAC lipstick to order. I spent so much time as *screams* this is my first MAC lipstick!!! I watched about 20 videos on Youtube of peoples top ten, and too many blog posts. I finally decided on the lipstick called Hue.

I chose Hue as it is a nude and I would be able to wear it at school. (We have quite a strict policy, we cannot wear bright eye shadow or lipstick and must keep eye liner to a strict minimum!) Hue is a nude which is partly transparent meaning it lets your natural lip colour through, so it looks different on everyone. I love the colour, on me it is a sort of peachy pink in some lights and a pale pink in other lights.

The packaging is beautiful (no joke,) it almost looks like a bullet as such. It looks like this as is it is so airodynamic as such. (A weird way to describe a lipstick I know...) Althought it doesn't have the most elaborate packaging it by no means looks cheap, in fact due to the simplicity it looks very stylish.

From the picture it looks quite a deep colour but that is just the lighting, it was raining today. England of course!

Sorry about the state of my lips they are still recovering from winter as well as last weekends hay fever!

Trial | SEVENTEEN: On The Spot Foundation Week 4

So it's almost the end of the trial and I am four days into the last week of the trial and my skin is basically cleared up, I have one and two random spots that will not go away with out other treatment. Luckily though it's basically is amazing. I am definitely going to repurchase due to the quality of this product not to mention it's spot clearing skills. I hope this product gets the hype it deserves, because boy does it deserve it! Please do buy this when it comes available, if you like the sound of it.

MUA Lipstick Trio

Wednesday, 8 May 2013

I was birthday shopping for my friend and I was going past Superdrug and they had a 3 for 2 offer on so of course I had to pop in. I got in and amazingly the MUA products were also in this offer!! I didn't think they would be as they sometimes aren't included in the offers. Basically put I went in and bought, (not too much to my purses relief!)

One thing that I really wanted to buy was one of MUA's new Lipstick Trio's as I thought it was a great idea and compact.

I got the trio in Scarlet. Scarlet has three colours; the first a deep fuchsia, second a pale pink and lastly a coral colour. My initial thoughts were that if they had a good colour pay off they would be amazing. The packaging is also very nice compared to the old MUA packaging as it is very classy, and the label doesn't rub off as easily. The only thing I'm not sure about is the applicator it comes with. It's exactly the same applicator as for eye shadow, so I wasn't particularly sure why a lip product came with an eye shadow applicator, I doubt it's going to be as effective.

Trial | SEVENTEEN: On The Spot Foundation Week 3

Saturday, 4 May 2013

So it's just over three weeks since I got it and it had a big test today after I got the worst hay fever I have ever had; streaming, puffy eyes and a red nose from having to blow it so much. So it got tested for durability and also coverage. I have to admit it did well. Although it didn't cover the full redness of my face it didn't do to badly. My nose was almost fully covered, but no amount of make up could change the fact I had the worst hay fever ever. So thumbs up, and only one week left!!
