L'Oreal 3 in 1 Purifying Micellar Solution

Sunday, 23 February 2014
I have seen countless numbers of Micellar posts and reviews and wanted to see what all the hype was about. When it comes to taking off my makeup I'm not great, its usually wipes without any moisturising, cleansing or toning after. (Bad I know...) But after I bought this a few days ago I am starting to get the skincare buzz!

In Superdrug I saw that L'Oreal's 3 in 1 Purifying Micellar Solution (£4.99) was on offer with a 1/3 off, meaning I obviously had to get it.  The amount of post about this I have seen is huge, some with rave reviews others not as impressed.
The label on the front of the bottle claims to:

  1. Dissolve Make-Up
  2. Unclog Pores and Remove Impurities
  3. Tone and Sooth Skin
The description on the back of the bottle says:

'3 in 1 Purifying Micellar Solution - Used by makeup artists, this solution feels as gentle as water on your skin but acts like makeup remover, toner and skin soother all in one.'

'Purifies and Soothes - Swiftly dissolving all traces of makeup, the micellar solution acts like a purifying magnet on the skin's surface to capture and draw out excess oil and impurities rather than spreading them around your face like some wipes, can. so gentle, skin feels soothed and toned. No alcohol. No perfume. Hypo-allergenic.'

'Application and Usage - Apply using a cotton wool pad onto dry skin . Hold over the lashes, lids and lips for a few seconds then just  sweep away. No need to rinse or rub. Use morning  and evening. Suitable for all skin types, even sensitive.'

I do like this product, but I don't think that it feels like water as it has a slightly oily feel to me. However, it doesn't put me off the product at all. I find that it takes off all my well, but when it comes to mascara it takes a while, and a few cotton pads too. But it does eventually get all my makeup off, and leaves my skin feeling clean and refreshed.
The packaging is nice, it's quite minimalistic, with a few hints of pink on the label. I would prefer the cap to have some sort of 'stopper' type thing instead of nothing so it won't spill easily. It's quite thin meaning you can pop it into a bag easily. I would love to see a travel mini of this. Not only would it be cute, it would also be really good to take away with you. I think this is amazing, it has really made me start cleansing, toning and moisturising after taking my makeup off. Everyone should try this!

  1. I've seen aa few reviews this past week for the Garnier version which is the same price for double the size and has exactly the same ingredients, apparently! I am definitely going to pick some of this water up. I love gathering lots of opinions first, great review thanks :-)

    1. I wasn't sure which to get as they were both on offer. I decided on the L'Oreal because I had heard more about it. I'm definitely going to try Garnier's though :) xx

  2. I've used this to remove eye makeup lately, and it's really effective and gentle on the eye area, although I still prefer to use another cleanser for the skin :o) Xx

    1. I use another cleanser after because I'm not sure it quite gets everything off! Eye makeup definitely though :) xx
