Revlon Nearly Naked Foundation

Wednesday, 19 February 2014
As mentioned in my last post, I picked up a new foundation to try: Revlon's Nearly Naked Foundation (£8.99) in 110 Ivory. After using it for about a week I thought I'd review for you!

Before buying this foundation I have been swearing by Rimmel's Match Perfection as a base. Match Perfection is quite a low coverage foundation on me, and it is not quite the flawless coverage Rimmel make it out to be either. However it does match my skin tone!

Choosing a shade from Revlon's colour range was a big gamble for me. Mainly because Nearly Naked is £2 more than Match Perfection, so I didn't want to get a product I couldn't use. After a lot of testing on hands, face, wrist etc I picked the lightest shade: 110 Ivory.

The packaging for The Nearly Naked range is quite nice and Spring like. The white lid contrasts nicely to the product inside of the glass bottle. Because of the glass bottle, the product is quite heavy, but shouldn't break too easily as the glass is quite thick.

I am never sure whether having a pump dispenser is an advantage. On the one hand you can get the right amount of product out, but on the other hand you can't necessarily get all of the product out of the bottle. This foundation has no pump, so won't be everyone's favourite. (You could buy a pump to put in if you really can't stand foundations without.)
On to the product itself. 110 Ivory matches me almost perfectly, which I am very happy about. The formula is quite thick and when it is applied it feels really smooth and satiny. It's thicker than my Match Perfection but a little goes a long way in this case. It gives me a nice amount of coverage and lasts around 8 hours on my skin. It doesn't have a highly perfumed smell, to me it smells almost like yeast when you're making bread!
Overall I think that this will be my new go to foundation. On me it does look like I'm wearing make up, so if you are wondering whether to buy it you might want to take that in consideration. However if you are planning on getting  a new drugstore foundation, this is one of the best I've tried!
