Avon Sultry Emerald Quad

Avon Sultry Emerald Quad
Avon eyeshadow quads are a bit hit and miss in my experience, on the one hand I loved the Berry Love Quad for green eyes, but the Vivid Violet Quad was disappointing, so I had mixed feelings about the Sultry Emerald Quad, it looks gorgeous in the pan but would the colours translate?
Avon Sultry Emerald
As you can see in the pan the colours look so gorgeously vibrant and they actually translate really well onto the eye. Shade 1 is a matte pale off white colour for use as an inner corner highlight. Shade 2 is an amazingly sparkly glittery silver. Shade 3 is a gorgeous sparkly emerald which is so stunning. And finally shade 4 is a deep matte purple which in this quad is the perfect crease colour.
Avon Sultry Emerald
I do admit that Avon quads can be a gamble but they are so reasonable even if the products aren't the best it's not like you waste loads of money like if you bought high end. In my experience Avon products are so good for what they cost so if you can I would certainly recommend finding your nearest rep! Have you got any Avon products you think I should try? I'd love to know your likes and dislikes!

My Last Glossybox

Glossybox
Oh Glossybox, where did it all go wrong? These past few years I have awaited your arrival with the highest hopes only to have them shot down time and time again, but up until now I still haven't been able to end our journey completely. I want to say it's me, not you, but that's not the case at all; I picked you up from the post office, filled in your countless surveys but what did I receive in return? Nothing to write home about, that's for sure.

When I first signed up I filled out your long complex 'beauty profile' and after spending so long on it I'd have thought you would at least have used it before you sent me products that I have no use for. Add on top of that the endless surveys to earn 'glossydots.' I didn't mind them at first, 50 points per survey, I could earn a free box in 4 boxes, but then you changed it to only 20 without any warning. Slightly sneaky don't you think? When I asked you about it you told me there was new stuff coming soon, have I seen anything yet? Of course not. And lets be honest, those perfume samples, the ones I could get free from a department store, they're really only there to bulk out the box.

So what I'm really trying to say Glossybox, is that the disappointing products have made the novelty of the monthly boxes wear off. Your large brand directory, although it seems impressive I've never received most of those, usually getting the products of So Susan, which in my reviews I say they are not up to scratch. Yes I admit, a few of the products you have sent me I enjoyed using, but really, the bad outweigh the good. So long for now, maybe we'll be able make acquaintance sometime in the future but for now I leave you with this one last box.
This months box is based around the theme of 'Step Into Spring' and the box is full of products to give a 'fresh approach' to the new season. First up is the Naobay Moisturizing Peel which is a full size product. I've received this in a Glossybox before but it was 150ml so I guess they must have redesigned as now there is less product and it is now in a squeezy tube. I also got the Essence Lash Princess Volume Mascara, now I love Essence as a budget brand but am yet to try any of their mascaras so I'll try it for a while. A duo that were very recently on my blog are here again in the shape of the Dove Advanced Hair Series, sorry Glossybox, You Beauty Discovery got there first. The penultimate product is a ncLA Nail Lacquer in I Only Fly Private, it's not a colour I usually wear but I'll give it a go, a strange orange colour, which FYI has partially separated and took a hell of a lot of shaking to try and mix it back. Finally I got the Sleek Pout Paint in Peachy Keen, a peachy orange that is not my colour at all so I'll probably give away to one of my friends.

Overall lets be fair, this box hasn't helped my opinion on Glossyboxes, products that won't suit me, products I've received before, etc. The box has a value of just over £37, which is pretty good but none of the products really stand out to me. I'd love to know your views on Glossybox, do you love it or has the fun of it worn out?

Purse Friendly Acryilc Storage

Acrylic Storage
Back in January I started my Purse Friendly Storage series with Nail Polish Storage, jars from Poundland and today I am back with another storage solution also from Poundland.

Now when I say 'acrylic storage' it is likely that you will instantly think of Muji, the bloggers best friend, but it's not the most affordable. Poundland have noticed this and are now doing their own range of affordable storage.
Cheap Acrylic Storage
Now the acrylic storage that I picked up has so many useful little compartments. The larger one I use to store my MUA palettes as they all fit nicely. The smaller back two are useful for lip and eyeliners. The two in front of that are perfect for my foundation and the last two I've been using for my RealTechniques sponge and also Benefit's Lollitint!
Cheap Acrylic Storage
For £1 this acrylic storage cannot be beaten on affordability and if you can find it in your local Poundland you should definitely get a couple! It might surprise you but I keep seeing storage like this pop up every now and then in Poundland so you could be lucky and find another gem! Let me know if you do!

You Beauty Discovery Box

You Beauty Discovery Box
So last week I unsubscribed from Glossybox as to be perfectly honest the novelty has finally worn off, the service just isn't great. (Post to come.) I've been reading reviews about the You Beauty Discovery box for a while and I really liked the idea of choosing the items you want to try, and for a fraction of the price of a Glossybox I couldn't really argue! I placed my order on Tuesday night and it arrived only three days later, much to my excitement.
You Beauty Discovery Box
You get a little booklet telling you about every product that you could have chosen, this is especially useful if you wanted another of the products available but didn't order in time, it means you can purchase it for yourself and there might even be a discount code!
You Beauty Discovery Box Best Of British
What enticed me to sign up initially was the offer of an Illamasqua lipstick for only £6.95 and also the other products. The Illamasqua lipstick is in the shade Sangers which is a matte blood red, this claims to last all night which I do hope to try soon as the colour is gorgeous. (Think Taylor Swift-esque!) I also picked the STYL Instant Gel Nail Wraps as they are red, my favourite colour. When it comes to my nails I am so impatient, base coat, top coat, so much time, and it usually ends up smudging! So hopefully these instant nail wraps will be able to fix my patience issues when it comes to my nails. Every box then also came with a Nakd bar, mine was the Berry Delight, and also minis of the Dove Youthful Vitality Shampoo and Conditioner.

I'm not going to lie, switching to a beauty box where you get to pick two of the items is perfect for me as I can control how many makeup items I want and I'm really looking forward to next months box! If you're new to beauty boxes I'd say try this one first, it's cheaper and thoroughly more exciting than Glossybox! Have you fallen out of love with Glossybox too or have you recently joined You Beauty Discovery like me? I'd love to know!

OMG: Converse Wedge Heels!?

Converse Wedge Heels
As you may have guessed, I am not as 'into' fashion as I am beauty, but sometimes I do feel I should share some amazing items that I'm lucky enough own.

Now the beauties you see above are my the latest pair of shoes to enter my collection. My auntie actually kindly got these for me as we are both in love with Converse All Stars and she knows my love of pretty things. She lives all the way over in Dubai so I don't get to see her too often but when I do I love looking through her makeup bag and seeing her latest gorgeous SpaceNK purchases. At times she can be so embarrassing and likes to think she's 'down with the kids', (her words not mine,) but she is pretty cool and has an amazing dress sense! Bright yellow Converse anyone? She rocks them.
Converse Wedge Heels
She got me my first ever pair after my English Language GCSE in the Summer; I chose the colour: classic red, my favourite colour! So when my dad told me that she needed my shoe size I was so so excited to see what she had expertly picked out and OMG they're a honestly things of beauty!
Converse Wedge Heels
I had no idea that Converse did trainer wedge heels but apparently they do and as a lover of heels and trainers these are right up my street. Being quite small I love heels to boost my height a little but my preferred type of heel always has to be a wedge; I just find them so much easier to walk in. Other than the beautiful colouring of these, I also love the fact that unless you really study closely the shoes, you cannot noticeably tell that they are heels at all. As  I haven't worn them properly yet, (they arrived Tuesday,) I can't tell you exactly what they're like. I'm pretty sure there will be a follow up post about them if you do want to know my thoughts. The colouring though it just perfect as black will go with literally anything in my wardrobe; I'm not particularly adventurous in the fashion department as you can probably tell!

So I hope you like gazing at these gorgeous shoes as much as I do, and please tell me if you like the occasional fashion posts, because I'm more than happy to write a few more!

BarryM Haul

BarryM Haul
Okay, I admit this post was meant to go up in January and it's now March... Organisation on point right now... Ah well, it's here now and I hope it was worth the wait.

So all the way back in January I had a mini BarryM haul as there was a nice offer on: Spend over £5 and get a free limited edition top coat. I had recently run out of a white polish so decided I would get Matt White and also looking towards Spring/Summer I thought I would also pick up Green Berry a turquoisey colour. The top coat that was available was Christmas Tree which is glittery and full of holographic shapes and what not!
BarryM Swatches
Only a short post today, my posting has been rather irregular over the last couple of weeks, but I'll be back posting regularly ASAP! Hope you enjoyed!

Yankee Candle Outlet Haul

Yankee Candle Haul
On Saturday I shared my haul from The Body Shop and mentioned that I had also popped into the Yankee Candle outlet shop and bought a few candles in the frankly amazing sale.
Yankee Candle Votives
They had a selection of Chrismas votives on offer from their normal price of £1.35 to just 49p which is crazy money for Yankee Candles. The five chose were: Snow In Love, Season Of Peace, Midnight Oasis, Red Apple Wreath and Bay Leaf Wreath. Midnight Oasis was slightly more expensive at 90p but I'm not going to argue.
Yankee Candle Tarts
I got a Sugared Apple Votive before Christmas and it smelt so good! I was hoping I would find a jar candle at the outlet but it seems the scent was very popular as there were only tarts left but as they were reduced to 45p I thought I'd get three. And yes the scent is as amazing as I first thought, I've already used one.

Overall I spent only £4.21 on candles that were worth around £10, how amazing is that! Outlets are honestly my favourite places to shop at the moment and I'm going to have to organise more trips to Swindon to shop. What are your best Outlet bargains to date or have you maybe got a trip to one planned?
