May You Beauty Discovery Box
I know it is nearly June but I am yet to post about my May You Beauty Discovery Box and it was a good one.

Sadly I was to slow to get a sample of the Too Faced Better Than Sex mascara, however what I did manage to get was pretty amazing. First up I chose The Body Shop Wild Argan Oil Mircale Solid Oil, it smells amazing, no idea how to use it though, any tips? And I also chose two minis from La Roche-Posay: Effaclar Duo [+] and Ultra Light Fluid SPF 50+. The two extras this month were the dr.organic Snail Gel and the Jimmy Choo Man Sample.
You Beauty Discovery Box May
Overall a beauty box worth £6.95 containing these amazing products is well worth investment! You can find last months box here to see what I got. What boxes do you subscribe to, any you recommend to me?

Buying Your Prom Dress on Etsy

Wednesday, 27 May 2015
If you have no idea what the wonderful of Etsy is you must have been living under a rock because it is such an amazing place to go browsing for things you never knew you needed!

When it came to buying my prom dress I couldn't find anything I wanted in highstreet shops or bridal shops so I took to Etsy. My favourite thing about buying a dress on Etsy was the choice, long or short, embellished or plain, red or blue, the colour and detailing choices are never ending. There is also the option, on a lot of dresses, to have it handmade specifically to your measurements meaning it shall be the perfect size for you straight away. (However, for mine I got it bigger, just in case.) The dresses may be slightly more expensive but you're almost guaranteed not to have the same as someone else. I thought I would find some of the best shops to order prom dresses from so you can have look around.

WishDress
WishDress is where I got my dress from, I got this one, the dress arrived before it was meant to and other than being too big (which I wanted it to be,) it was perfect! A couple of other dresses that were nice but not for me were the Champagne Prom Dress and the Turquoise Applique Short Prom Dress.

BudgetDress
Less of a selection than WishDress, however, most of these are under $100/£65 so are on the more affordable side of Etsy. For the more sparkly type of dress the Sweetheart Neckline with Bead Work is perfect, however, if you're looking for more plain dress the A-Line Sweetheart Neckline Dress is pretty too.

JayFashion
Dresses under £100 here, mainly floor length ones, and gorgeous ones at that! I'm not usually a fan of yellow but the One Shoulder Prom Dress is something I can see myself wearing, also this Royal Blue Dress with Flower Applique, and last but not least this Mint Green Simple Prom Dress With Beading.

Misdress
This shop has over 500 different styles of dresses to choose from in all different colours imaginable. They mainly sell quite vintage looking dresses in champagnes, plums, corals etc, the dresses are on the more pricier side but look so elegant and sophisticated. My favourite of them all is a whopping $209.99/£133.55 but when you see the detailing of the beading you'll understand why. It's the Deep V Back Sheer Beading Prom Dress.

I hope that these shops might help your searching for your dream dress, if not just search Etsy there are so many different ones to chose from, and if all else fails, many of the shops do custom design dresses as well!

Kiss Cosmetics SheerStick in Fresh Rose

Monday, 25 May 2015
I was thinking the other day about what I like to see from a brand and my first thought went to bloggers, for any non blogger who may be reading this let me explain: there are many blogs out there, thousands and thousands in fact, and so many people now trust blogs over magazines as bloggers trial and test such a variety of products, brands are starting to realise what an influence we have. One such brand is Kiss Cosmetics, for the last few months they have been tweeting asking if bloggers and MUA's wanted to join their Facebook group. In this group they have asked for our opinions and preferences about makeup, and also given us the chance to review a new release product of theirs!
Kiss Cosmetics SheerStick Review
Last week I received an email telling me I had been picked to trial a new release product of theirs and it arrived on Saturday in a box with a cute little packet of  sweets. The product I was sent was the new SheerStick in Fresh Rose* the people at Kiss Cosmetics really did their research on sending me this to try as it is right up my street. Fresh Rose is a gorgeous pinky nude, that really is a my lips but better colour, those who read my blog will know just how much I love a good nude lip, it's my go to everyday safe bet as it goes with any makeup look.
Kiss Cosmetics SheerStick Review
The formula is much like a lipgloss in lipstick form, it has a glossy finish and adds a sheer wash of colour over the lips. My lips are always dry and sometimes I refrain from using lipsticks as they only make my lips worse, however, I wore this for a day and it felt amazing on my lips. Kiss say it contains Vitamin E and Jojoba Oil which 'delivers a moisturising treat' and I completely agree, at times it was like I wasn't wearing anything on my lips the formula is so lightweight but my lips still felt moisturised!

The packaging seems quite robust and I like that it is the colour of the product so I can easily reach for the colour that I want. This is definitely a product I will throw in my bag for on the go top ups as it is so easily to apply and glides on.

The new SheerSticks are available in 8 shades and are available from the 5th of June from the Kiss Cosmetics website at £7 which is a very good price for something of this quality!

5 Makeup Bag Essentials by Georgiana (Beauty Nerd)

Saturday, 23 May 2015
Hello, this is Georgiana from Beauty Nerd. Beth is doing her GCSE`s and she needed some guest bloggers, so I was more than happy to help. Today I will share with you 5 items that I think are essential to be in your makeup bag. As a beauty blogger you tend to get every new release and surround yourself with the latest lipsticks, foundations, eyeliners, etc. You think you NEED all of them, hence you are tempted to stuff your makeup bag like you would stuff an airport luggage. But you already carry to many things in your purse anyway, so why not stick to the basics?
1. Concealer
For me concealer is a Holy Grail product. I don`t always like to apply foundation, especially in the summer I go for a minimal makeup, but concealer is a must. You can hide dark circles, erase blemishes, cover all sorts of imperfections. There are many options out there, from drugstore to high-end, but my favourite has to be the Collection 2000 Lasting Perfection Concealer. This provides an amazing coverage and lasts for such a long time. However, some spots are peskier than other, so I always like to carry this little guy to make sure everything is covered.

2. Powder
I think powder is a tricky one. While some people hate having an extra layer on their skin, girls with oily skin can`t live without it. My favourite has to be Rimmel`s Stay Matte, but that`s not quite travel friendly, so my next pick is Seventeen`s Miracle Matte Pressed Powder. This helps keep the oil at bay for 6 hours, feels really lightweight on the skin and even provides a bit of coverage. I always carry this with me when I go to work, it`s very handy throughout mid-day, when the shine starts to be more noticeable.

3. Lipstick
Lipstick is a product that even non-beauty addicts seem to love. A nude lipstick makes you look more mature and elegant, a red one will make you stand out and an orange or pink lipstick will show you enjoy life and like to have fun. Seriously, you can say so much about a person by looking at the lipstick they`re wearing. At the moment I love pink nude shades, my favourite being from Essence. I just think it`s perfect for everyday use, it`s not too out there and makes you stand out in a subtle way.

4. Mascara
Another product that I consider a must is mascara. When you apply mascara your seem more awake and your eyes instantly stand out. In my makeup bag I always love carrying a sample of Benefit`s They`re Real!. This has to be the best mascara I have ever tried, not only does it make my lashes look longer and fuller, but it also separates them and adds definition.

5. Highlighter
I think that if you know how to apply it, highlighter can make such a difference. I love using a highlighter in the summer, it gives you a nice glow and also makes features of your face stand out. When you apply it just remember you want to illuminate the parts where the shine would be if the sun was hitting your face. That`s the cheekbones, bridge of the nose, brow bone and forehead.  It`s quite easy to do it and it will make such an impact. I love travelling with miniatures, at the moment I use the Skin Illuminator from No7, that comes in a small plastic tube and it`s very safe to carry in your bag.

I really hope you enjoyed this article and found it useful. What do you normally carry in your makeup bag?

Covergirl Lash Exact Mascara Review by TotallyRó

Covergirl Lash Exact Mascara
Another guest post for you today from TotallyRó! Enjoy!

Hello,
My name is Róisín (but you can call me Ró) and my blog is totallyro.blogspot.com. When I saw Beth's blog post about her needing a guest blogger, I wanted to help as I know how it feels when you have exams on and don't have enough time to blog. So today I am going to do a review on 'CoverGirl Lash Exact' mascara.

I bought this in TK Maxx (TJ Maxx in America), I was very surprised to find this in my local store because I live in Ireland and I have never seen CoverGirl makeup at all! I have long, fair eyelashes so what I like in a mascara is length, pigment and a little tiny bit of volume.
Covergirl Lash Exact Mascara Before and After
I liked the formula of this mascara, it is long wearing and easy to use. The wand is really unusual, when I take it out of the tube it looks like there is just enough mascara to coat your eyelashes without making it all clumpy, which I hate! The wand is made of plastic.

The only thing I don't like about this mascara is that it isn't waterproof as my eyes can get watery sometimes, but apart from that, I really like this mascara.

Thank you for reading.

See you,
Ró

Prom Dresses Under £50
Prom can be expensive; you've got the shoes, the hair, the makeup and of course, most importantly the dress. People in my year spent hundreds on their dresses, some even got theirs specially made! Obviously it's personal preference, (long/short sparkly/plain etc,) and budget dependent, so this post is for those on a slightly lower budget: under £50 to be exact!

No7 Haul by Hazel from Me The Quitter

No7 Haul
While I'm away doing GCSE's a few bloggers have kindly offered to guest post on MissCosmeticBlogger for me so you guys still have posts to read! First up we have Hazel from www.methequitter.wordpress.com, you should totally go check her blog out! Onto the post...

I thought I'd tell you a bit about myself - I'm a 26 year old blogger. I blog about a random mix of things including feminist issues, cleaning tips and fashion.

Hello MissCosmeticBlogger readers! For my guest post I am going to review three No7 products I purchased a few days ago.

Products On Review:
No7 Instant Illusions Airbrush Away Primer
No7 Stay Perfect Superlight Foundation
No7 Perfect Light Pressed Powder

I have always found it a bit of a mine field trying to find the right foundation for me on a make up stands. I've had many instances of agonising over getting  the right foundation in the shop only to realise it is too light or too orangey when I get it home. On Saturday I made one of the best move in make up I have ever made in my 26 years on this earth - I went to the No7 counter in Boots to receive their 'Colour Match' service.

The Smell: The smell of the primer and liquid foundation is fresh and light, not heavily perfumed at all, almost makes me think of the smell of sun cream. The powder foundation is unscented which I am very happy about. For me the smell of make up is very important as I have always found heavily scented makeup repellent. When I lived at home my dad would suffer sneezing attacks if I wore scented makeup due to an allergy he has, therefore I've grown up avoiding scented makeup.
The Feel: The Instant Illusions primer is silky and light between the fingers and glides on effortlessly. I apply it after my moisturiser to my cheeks starting just above the jaw line and circle outwards and upwards; a little bit goes a long way. You can apply it to your whole face but I find I don't need to. My usual make up routine doesn't include a primer and the last primer I used was from Benefit, but I don't think I could bear not to use this primer now because it just makes my skin feel so wonderful and definitely helps the foundation apply more evenly.

When applying the liquid foundation I squeeze a small amount onto the back of my hand, Stay Perfect Superlight foundation is a rather runny liquid so is best applied with your fingers, or if you are really against fingers a sponge, but definitely not a brush! This is a foundation I would recommend to anyone who wishes to achieve a barely there, light coverage. My complexion can be red, especially my cheeks, but this foundation still works for me, as you can build it up to increase the coverage.

I apply a light dusting of the powder to finish off my foundation, even thought the liquid is quite matte so you don't have to use powder at all, but I find a dusting of powder across the T-Zone helps to keep my makeup good all day. The powder has a luxury silky feel to it, so you wont loose the feel created by the primer and liquid.

Packaging: Youthful and inviting is not the word. No7 don't market their products to the under 40 very well, as is evident from the eyeshadow and lipstick colours in their range! HOWEVER if you can look past the plain packaging (which you really should - as per the old adage "don't judge a book by it's cover") their foundation range is really worth a try!

I hope you liked Hazel's post, you can find her blog here, I really suggest you take a look!
