Sunday My Prince Will Come: A New Benefit Set

Sunday, 27 August 2017
I'm going to start this post by saying that I love a good gift set, and that I also love makeup miniatures. So as you can imagine this Benefit set was right up my street. If you remember seeing this mentioned on the blog recently, you probably read my Charlotte Tilbury post, where I said that a Benefit gift set would be making an appearance - well here it is, I hope you enjoy!

Sunday My Prince Will Come

This little kit is one of four that Benefit recently released. Each is centred around a different blush or bronzer. My set has the new Galifornia blush but there is also ones with Hoola, Dandelion and Rockateur. I was tempted to put the Dandelion set on my wish list rather than Galifornia, but the only products I really wanted from it was the liquid Dandelion blush, which I'm planning to get at some point anyway.

Each kit has four mini products and a beautiful bag, perfect for travelling. Sunday My Prince Will Come (love the name!) is meant to offer you a natural look in four steps. As always with Benefit, the mini products are decent sizes, and as beautifully packaged as their larger counterparts. The mini set comes in at £27.50 which might seem steep for four minis and a bag but the products are actually worth an impressive £34, and that's without trying to workout how much the bag is worth also.

I've actually tried two of the four products before, luckily I love both, but it was the two I hadn't which obviously excited me more. First there is the mini Gimmie Brow, which is also in my shade 3. I have about four Gimmie Brows at the moment, one full size and the others minis. This is my absolute go to for easy to deal with, natural looking brows. All it takes is a swipe of two through the brows and it's done. Definitely one I will be taking to uni. Next is cult classic Highbeam, I think I've had around four of these, most of which I have found myself giving away as I thought that it was too subtle for me. In actual fact this is perfect for me, I've finally realised that blinding highlight just isn't for me, I don't think it works as well on my pale skin as it does on other skin tones, so rather than give this to my friends I'm going to use it myself for a natural glow. I love the They're Real mascara, it's one of my favourite high end mascaras but up until now I was yet to try its Tinted Primer counterpart. I quite like a simple makeup routine in the morning so a lash primer hasn't necessarily appealed to me, but obviously as I now have a mini it has to be tried - who knows, maybe I'll be converted? The final product is definitely the gem of the set: a mini Galifornia blush. The Benefit blushes are some of my favourites (I'm looking at you Dandelion,) so when this came out I was pretty excited to try it. Earlier I mentioned that Benefit minis are very decent, this is highlighted most by their mini blushes. The Galifornia mini has a brush and a mirror, something which some full size high end blushes can't manage. Also, Benefit blushes seem to smell pretty great too!

This kit is a Benefit lover's kit of dreams. As someone who lately has preferred no fuss makeup everything in this will be used, probably together as it suggests. The tinted lash primer is the more natural alternative to mascara (and hopefully will be easier to get off than They're Real!) Galifornia is such a beautiful shade too, slightly more noticeable than my beloved Dandelion, but not in a bad way at all. If you're near a Benefit counter you should check out the new kits as I'm positive there will be one for you.
