I will be the first to point out how late on the band wagon I am, because I really am late with this. However, I thought I would wait until I had had enough time to try it out. This of course is Benefit’s Lollitint* I got sent this by Benefit after a less than satisfying trip to a counter. If you want to know more, I have a post here.
I first heard about Benefit’s Lollitint on British Beauty Blogger and was really excited. I liked the idea of an orchid cheek and lip tint, as orchid was apparently ‘this seasons colour.’ And what a pretty colour orchid is!
First off I have to say I love love love the packaging, it is just so beautiful. The white of the lid contrasts nicely to the mirror effect container. The bit that contains the product is a pinky orchid type colour which is completely opaque. The mirrored effect of the packaging gives a really pretty feel and makes it one of those products you want to have pride of place on your dressing table. I especially like the light pink patterns and the white text, they give the packaging something a little extra!
The brush is quite long and thin, allowing the brush to bend freely which in some cases is a good thing. However if you aren’t careful the brush can deposit product where it is not wanted. It hasn’t happened to me but I’m just wary because it could happen.
I decided to show, using this model from a magazine for some strange reason, how Benefit suggest you apply the product. Three dots of the product on the cheek and then you blend well. I found this method works well for their other cheek and lip tints, but this particular one is different, it has more of a gel like consistency. Whereas their other cheek and lip tints have a more watery consistency.
I am not a fan of using multipurpose products on my lips, e.g cheek and lip tints, because I always find them to be drying. I think this is because they are formulated for colour and not moisture, which my lips crave. I don’t know whether anyone else gets that feeling when they apply certain products that instantly give your lips a drying feeling.

Straight From Bottle and Blended
Lollitint, because of it’s consistency I think, it is harder than other cheek and lip tints to blend. To blend it out fully you need to start almost instantly otherwise you are left with a blob of darker product than the rest that is blended. I find this really annoying sometimes as I’d literally have to drop the product and start blending so fast; it would just be impossible.
The staying power of this product though is second to none. I tried to get the swatch above on my hand off using my L’Oreal 3 in 1 Purifying Micellar Solution, which can get pretty much any product off, but not this. It has such good staying power. I suggest if you’re looking for a product that will last through work to a night out as well, this is definitely a safe bet!
|My attempt at removing Benefit Lollitint|
All in all I love this product. It’s only downfall is how quickly it stains/dries, which you could argue is a good thing, the colour is stunning and should compliment any skin tone. You might think the price is quite high at £24.50, and I agree to an extent. However, 12.5ml will last a long time as a little goes a long way.
