So as I mentioned in my Spending Ban post I had made a small order from Clinique on the day my £10 off voucher was going to run out. I’ll be honest I cut it pretty fine but I’m glad I made the order.
Now it looks like I bought quite a few bits but in fact there was a nice little offer on: spend £40 and get five samples free. Obviously I was never going to resist that, I am a massive fan of a bargain, and often I won’t shop unless I snag a bargain, (or a freebie!) The two things I actually bought were the Clinique Moisture Surge Face Spray and Dramatically Different Moisturizing Lotion +, this came to a total of £40 and my voucher made it £30, so all in all a pretty good saving and freebie haul.
I decided against purchasing any makeup as I like to swatch things before hand or I might be disappointed. The Dramatically Different Moisturizing Lotion + came as a sample in my BritishBeautyBlogger Box and it seemed a really nice, hydrating moisturiser for me. This one is skin type 1,2, which is very dry to dry combination and I am definitely very dry at the moment. I am trying to drink more water to combat this at the moment. Now the Moisture Surge Face Spray I kind of bought on a whim, not usually a good idea. However, so far I actually quite like this. Possibly my favourite moisturiser is the Moisture Surge one but at £34 a pop I cannot afford it *sad face* but maybe the spray will mean I don’t need it. According to the website it can be used over and under makeup, as a moisturiser I guess. So far I like it, it’s more hydrating than simply spraying water onto your face and looks to be perfect for summer, especially if you’re going to the beach at some point. As far as I can see it does not have SPF so won’t replace your current SPF moisturiser but still gives you a hydrating burst.
Now the freebies which I worked out are worth almost £30, so I ended up getting £70 worth of products for only £30. I had to pick the mini Chubby Stick in Super Strawberry as I love the chubby sticks, I constantly use another mini one I have in Woppin’ Watermelon, (loving the alliterations too!) Then were two usual suspects that appear in almost every bonus time: Liquid Facial Soap Mild and Take the Day Off Makeup Remover. Both I quite like and both perfect size for travelling too. I also decided to try their Custom Repair Serum which sounds like it would work absolute wonders, but we’ll just have to wait and see!
Finally I chose samples of possibly my favourite Clinique product. Now I think they may have reformulated it but Clinique Moisture Surge is amazing, my skin is so dry and this feels like an instant hit of hydration, like those Gillette razor adverts, I think they’re still on TV. However, it is really expensive: £34! Sadly I couldn’t justify it in this haul but maybe I’ll be able to in the next!
As you can tell from my last post this haul kinda put me on a spending ban but believe me it was so worth it!
