Pixi Glow Tonic: A Holy Grail*

I’m going to be honest here, but if you put my name on a product I will undoubtedly love it 100x more, which is impressive when the product is already one of my holy grails. This mega size bottle of Pixi’s famous Glow Tonic* arrived at my halls a few weeks ago, and I even shifted around my blogging schedule so I could talk to you about this sooner!

Pixi Glow Tonic

I think this was the most beautiful PR parcel that I have ever received. I mean, the gold box with a magnetic closure and green bow – Pixi, your PR certainly know how to make an impact. You can ask my flatmate, I actually squealed when I opened it! Aside from the fact it’s personalised which makes me love it, I also think it is an amazing product.

The regular 250ml Glow Tonic retails for £18, which might seem like a lot for a toner, but I promise you it is so much more than a nice smelling bottle of liquid. Glow Tonic is an exfoliating cleanser, formulated with Glycolic Acid. When you swipe it over your face it actually helps clear dead skin cells, the best bit is that it’s really gentle and you won’t know you’re exfoliating. Some people like to use it both AM and PM, personally I prefer to use it PM as part of my long routine. Pixi seem to recommend only once a day.

As someone with horribly dry skin this is a life saver. I don’t necessarily want to exfoliate properly every day as it tends to dry my skin out even more. Using this once a day gets rid of the surface dry skin which can make my makeup the next morning look very flaky. It also does not contain alcohol so shouldn’t dry your skin out more. So far mine has been fine, so I wouldn’t worry about it at all. As long as you have a good skincare routine in place AM and PM this will slot in and make your skin so much better to work with.

Personalised Pixi Glow Tonic

In terms of when about in my skincare I use this, it’s just after I cleanse, as it’s PM I’ll have double cleansed – at the moment I use the Clinique Pep-Start Cleanser and Soap&Glory Peaches&Clean. Then I follow on with a couple of acids and moisturiser. It’s not a product you’ll have to completely rejig your routine for. Sadly this massive bottle, with pump, is not available to buy, however I have seen it appear on QVC every now and then for under £30, which is an really good deal. I’m hoping to get another large bottle once I’m done with this, which won’t be for a long time considering I only use one pump at a time.

I have to say thank you to Pixi for sending me this amazing bottle, and ensuring my skin is going to be glowing for the next few months at least. If you wanted to try it, Pixi do a mini bottle with 15ml for only £5, seems like a good investment. Especially as if you like it you’ll be able to decant it and take it with you when you travel!
